‘’ Uakii’’ is derived from the Otjiherero name ‘’Uaakisa’’ meaning to ‘’enlighten’’ or ‘’ bring light to’’. We strongly believe in building bridges across cultures and transcending cultural barriers in a non-intrusive and respectful manner by upholding the integrity and celebrating the uniqueness of all human beings.

Uakii Wilderness is a Namibian tour operator specialise in enriching and enhancing the visitor’s experience of the country’s rich ethnic and cultural diversity.

Uakii Wilderness is a locally-owned ecotourism company that operates a series of unique cultural tours and hands-on-wilderness skill based San Bushman experiences, OvaHerero traditional weddings and the singing, dancing to the rhythm, drums of Africa and listening to the golden voices of the Batswana people.

‘’Our Cultural & Heritage Is Our Pride’’ so when joining our cultural tours, expect to escape to a peaceful, wilderness and tranquil rural environment and to spend plenty of quality time in the company of your local host and a local guide familiar with the local people and circumstances.

Your host & owner Peter-Hain Uaakisa Kazapua will guide in meeting, interacting and learning about Namibia’s indigenous ethnic groups in their traditional surroundings, because ‘’Our Cultural & Heritage Is Our Pride’’

Where possible, accommodation will be partially as camping in tents and traditional huts with beds, simple shared ablution facilities. Well in advance we can on request provide lodge accommodation for those of you who might not want to stay in a tent or a traditional hut/s.

We cater for individual travellers in small groups of up to a maximum of 14 guests and with a different mindset and great interest in wanting to learn and respect our local communities or tribes we will visit during our cultural tours.
