Kashana is situated directly on the banks of the Omaruru river in peaceful, tranquil surroundings and is within walking distance of town. Our premises cover an area of 12704m².
Part of the restaurant building is still the original structure which was built in 1907, with a veranda going right around the building. This style is very practical as it prevents the hot Namibian sun in summer from heating the walls from the outside, and the interior is cool and comfortable all year round. This building covers an area of approximately 600m² and is made up of a kitchen, reception area, conference facility, bar and inside seating for guests.
Accommodation is made up of 6 thatched bungalows, each one consisting of 2 king-size beds and a bathroom. Two of the bungalows have a second floor with two single beds for accommodating families. The bungalows are fully equipped with a shower, bidet, air conditioner, fridge, safe and a television.
Two of the bungalows are equipped with a shower as well as a bath. Furthermore, there are two more fully equipped rooms available which can accommodate up to three guests.
In addition to the thatched bungalows, we also have three apartment rooms which are fully equipped and are inclusive of a lounge area.
A thatched building situated in the centre of the property houses a Hair dresser, Goldsmith, Herbal Shop with a wide selection of ayurvedic remedies and gifts and an Art Centre which is constructed out of recycled materials, making this structure an art in itself.
Kashana also boasts a pool with a pool bar and a thatched roof situated next to the pool. We also boast our own laundry service situated on the premises.
The Manager’s house, situated on the premises, is made up of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with a bath and shower, kitchen, dining and living room, 2 wonderful studies and a double garage.
With the growing demand for accommodation and Namibia becoming a top destination for tourists, Kashana is also in the process of constructing three additional thatched roof rooms to fill this demand. Each room is approximately 30m².
We are fortunate that our premises are large and spacious, and should a further need arise, we will be able to expand on our number of bungalows to accommodate even more guests. Our premises are so spacious that we can also construct an even larger conference area should the need arise.
