This exquisite 350 hectare game ranch has beautiful mountains that flow into valleys to accommodate the wide variety of game. You can explore the rugged mountains and test your 4 × 4 skills driving up two hand built cement tracks to take you where you would never have been able to go before. On top of the mountains, you get rewarded by seeing eland, kudus, mountain reedbuck and klipspringers that play hide and seek between the aloes. The world stops for a moment when you take in the unrestricted view of the Groblersdal valley past Loskopdam to the never-ending horizons.
When you get down to the valley floor you see the zebras, red hartebeest, waterbuck, impala and blue wildebeest that use the trees for protection. The carefully managed indigenous trees provide a haven of flora for the expert as well as the novice. Birdwatchers are encouraged to bring their binoculars to experience the wide variety of birds – from the well known red-chested cuckoo – whose call echoes in the valleys – to the constant answering of the colorful blue kingfisher. At night, you might get lucky running into a brown hyena or realize that the leopard you have been looking for has been watching you all this time!
The rustic bushveldt facilities beckons you to cool down in the pool and you can choose between the Marula Lodge, which offers accommodation for 8 people, 3 luxurious tents that accommodates 2 people each or the River Lodge that accommodates 6 people. The call from the baboon troop echoes nearby while you enjoy a sundowner in The Boslapa, which also offers a complete kitchen that caters for more than 20 people. You can decide where you want to prepare your dinner – the built in BBQ in the lapa or the fire pit near the pool – or just relax around a bushveldt fire while enjoying the night time symphony of animal noises.
Nature offers the best for the adventurer that loves bundu camping. Relive last year’s trip into deep dark Africa in one of the five camping sites, when you use your improvised shower or the “longdrop” for those more private moments
