The Molopo Kalahari Lodge, named after the currently dry river the Molopo, is situated in the area known as the Green Kalahari, 200km north of Upington, 5km from the Botswana border and 60km from the world famous Kalahari Trans Frontier Park. A proverbial oasis in the desert.
The Lodge, as it is affectionately known by a multitude of satisfied guests, is the ideal stop over point to and from the Park, or merely for a relaxing getaway to cleanse the body and mind before facing the rat race again.
The lodge consists of Fully serviced chalets, rondavels and newly established tented chalets quaintly positioned between the red Kalahari Dunes
Camping facilities are also available with electricity & private ablution facilities.
The Molopo is ideal for business meetings, weddings, birthday parties and more, weekend getaways and family fun.
There are no strangers at the Molopo. Everyone of you is an Adventurer in the Kalahari. There is something about the Molopo that makes for fast friendships. We pride ourselves that at the Molopo you are not just a number, but an acquaintance with a name who becomes a friend.
At mealtime you can experience genuine kalahari hospitality when you indulge in our culinary delights of springbok, gemsbok, ostrich and other fare. (Click the Restaurant & Bar page to view full menu.)
Start or end your evening in our unique Lodge Bar, where you can spend hours of bewilderment over the décor. (Don’t forget our excellent wine list)
For a private braai (barbeque) we offer a Masai-style boma enclosure.
To get to the lodge, you travel north from Upington on R360. The road is one of the newest and best in South Africa, and the 190 km. trip should take less than 90 minutes.
Follow the signs from Upington to the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park. The lodge is just 800 meters down the park road after leaving the tarmac, or follow our own Molopo Kalahari Lodge road signs.
