Nhoma Safari Camp is a small activity orientated, tented camp in the north eastern corner of Namibia within the traditional area of the Ju/’hoan San or Bushmen. Only pre-booked guests are allowed.
Ten safari tents provide basic luxuries such as real beds and en-suite bathrooms with hot water. Meals and drinks are taken in a central dining area. It is adjacent to the Ju/’hoan village by the name of //Nhoq’ma and 60 km, or a one-and-a-half hour drive on a 4WD track, from the Khaudum National Park.
Traditional skills such as fire making, rope making, setting of traps for birds and antelope are guaranteed to be demonstrated, as well as lesser known hunting skills with, for example, the springhare probe.
The community participates in traditional games in the afternoon with names such as the porcupine or dama game, followed in the evening by the powerful Giraffe or Elephant healing dances.
