OKOSONGORO – Wildlife paradise

Okosongoro Safari Ranch, situated in the heart of Namibia, is a wildlife ranch with a difference. The total hunting ground covers 14,000 ha (34,594 acres). Okosongoro is also a part of the Kalkfeld conservancy which covers an area of 500,000 ha (1 235,500 acres). Established over 30 years ago as a safari ranch, Okosongoro is a wildlife paradise. In addition to excellent trophy hunting, Okosongoro offers a cozy atmosphere as well as exciting activities for family members of all ages. During the game drives, enjoy the fascinating variety of wildlife, including roan, sable, black and white rhino, as well as hippo and a captivating variety of African bird life.
Your hosts, Peter & Uta Clausen, are born Namibians of German origin. They are the third generation of their family to live on Okosongoro, which in the Herero language means „place of the zebras“. A traditional farm house, with a big garden, huge trees and a variety of domestic animals, awaits you. Five comfortable guest rooms, each with en-suite bathroom, are available for our guests. Delicious meals are taken together with the family.

OKOSONGORO – Wildparadies

Okosongoro ist eine ausgefallene Wildfarm im Herzen Namibias. Der Name ,,Okosongoro" stammt aus der Hererosprache und bedeutet ,,Platz der Zebra". Dieses von „Pferdesterbe“ freie Gebiet veranlaßte bereits die deutsche Schutztruppe, ihre Pferde hier unterzustellen. Heute grasen auf ca. 14 000 ha einige hundert Rinder und Wild. Auch ist Okosongoro Teil des Kalkfeld Hegegebietes welches sich über eine Größe von 500 000 ha erstreckt. Auf Okosongoro sind über dreißig Wildarten zu beobachten, darunter auch so seltene Tierarten wie: Pferdeantilope, Rappenantilope, Halbmondantilope, Nyala, Spitz- und Breitmaulnashorn, Nilpferd (Hippo) und mit viel Glück auch Leopard und Gepard. Zur Hege des Wildes wird Trophäenjagd betrieben. Okosongoro betreut seit über 30 Jahren erfoglreich seine Jagdgäste.
Ihre Gastgeber, Peter und Uta Clausen sind gebürtige Namibianer, deutscher Abstammung und in dritter Generation auf Okosongoro. Hier erwartet Sie ein typisches Farmhaus, mit vielen Haustieren und einem großen Garten mit schönen Schattenbäumen. Fünf gemütlich eingerichtete Gästezimmer, jedes mit eigenem Badezimmer, stehen zur Verfügung. Die Mahlzeiten werden im Kreise der Familie eingenommen.
