Deep in the heart of the Limpopo Province, northernmost of all of South Africa’s nine provinces, lies Castaro Lodge, a unique fusion of both the modern, and the traditional, that makes Africa so fantastic.
A mere 35 kilometres from the historic town of Makhado, once known as Louis Trichard, Castaro Lodge serves as a perfect entry point to the beautiful Soutpansberg of the Limpopo Province, renowned for the diversity of its habitats, its animal life, and its cultural heritage.
Transport from Johannesburg International, to Castaro Lodge, is best accomplished by road, and collection from and return to the airport is included in your daily rates.
With all 1,000 hectares of Castaro dedicated not only to wildlife management, but exclusively to bow hunting, and with only 40% of the destination accessible by its internal roads, Castaro offers a slice of Africa almost untainted by the increasing inroads of man.
With no infrastructure other than the Lodge buildings themselves, some limited internal roads, and of course, the inevitable bow hides scattered about the property, Castaro is a perfect example of Africa at its most pristine.
